A Few Firsts...

The past few days have been filled with some "firsts" for our little family!

The BEST (in my opinion) happened this morning when I heard JM cooing over the monitor - and went to get him out of his crib. I walked in, said good morning, and I got the biggest smile and coo from my little man. He decided to talk and smile at me all day long today - melts my heart! Of course, he had already smiled at his Daddy, on Father's Day...so now he will have to learn to say "Mommy" first! :)

Another first - would be he spent his first night in his room, and in his crib. This was a hard decision for us to make - but our pediatrician really encourages you to have your baby out of your room and in his own room and bed at four weeks. It honestly makes me sad not to have him near me in his little cradle...BUT I must say the quality of sleep we are getting has improved greatly!

Yesterday was John Marshall's first "playdate" with precious Sutton. We had so much fun meeting Sutton and catching up with Summer. Baylor 2027 get ready! :) These great pictures are courtesy of Summer.

Happy Father's Day!

We had a wonderful Sunday celebrating Justin's first Father's Day! We had a lazy morning and spent two hours on our bed just laying there staring at our precious little one. He is really starting to try to "talk" to us. He follows our movements, and has great eye contact. The BEST part of our morning was when he smiled at Justin twice in a row - what a great Father's Day gift! Guess I can return the new wedge and golf shoes? Ha! We had lunch at my Aunt and Uncle's house with all of my cousins and my Granddaddy John. It was so precious to watch my GDaddy hold his namesake on Father's Day. Justin and I spent the afternoon at the mall and at some golf store while two of my cousins kept JM. It is so nice to be able to get away and leave him with family! Sunday evening we took a nice long walk. The pics below are right before we took the walk. Of course I have pics on my camera documenting all of the day's events, but I am too lazy to go get the connector cord, so these are off of my phone...THANK YOU Justin for being an amazing father to our son! :)

One Month Stats

We went in for John Marshall's one month check-up where he received a great report and his second Hep. B shot. Here are the stats:

Height - 23.5 inches (97th percentile)
Weight - 9 pounds (25th percentile)
Head - (50th percentile)

We have one long, skinny guy on our hands! It is amazing to think that he gained two pounds and grew an inch and a half in just 4 weeks! Slow down JM - you are growing up too fast!!!
